Rachel Wright

Dr Rachel Wright is the Director of the University of Canterbury’s Centre for Entrepreneurship. Over the last three years, she has created a number of programmes to develop student capabilities in social entrepreneurship and innovation, including a student incubator. Rachel is actively involved in the entrepreneurial ecosystem in New Zealand, where she teaches various courses on starting new enterprises and is an advisor for many social and for-profit ventures. She has a PhD in Biochemistry and spent 10 years in Silicon Valley, initially at Stanford University and then working in the Biotechnology sector where she experienced first-hand working on Start-Up ventures.
