Mike Curtin

In 2004, Mike Curtin joined DC Central Kitchen (DCCK) as its COO and became CEO in 2007. In 2008, he led the organization’s move into the healthy school food space, a step that allowed DCCK to double in size and impact. DCCK’s Nutrition Lab, funded and launched under Mike’s leadership, has allowed DCCK to take on more contracts, increase investments in local farms, and improve production efficiency. The Kitchen’s social enterprise portfolio now accounts for nearly 65°/o of DCCK’s total operating budget and has increased the total staff to 150 people, over 40% of whom are graduates of the Kitchen's nationally recognized Culinary Job Training Program.
