Jim Schorr is CEO of Social Enterprise Alliance (SEA), an organization of 1000+ members and 16 regional chapters that has been at the forefront of the social enterprise sector in the US since 1998. With its origins as the first conference for social entrepreneurs, SEA is now in its 18th year of advancing the development of social enterprise in the U.S. As an MBA student at Kellogg School of Management in the early 1990s, Schorr was inspired by emerging “triple bottom line” businesses and helped launch Net Impact, an organization that has since inspired a generation of students at 200+ universities around the world. In the 2000s, he was CEO of Juma Ventures, an organization that is widely admired as one of the social enterprise pioneers and success stories in the U.S. Since 2007, he has taught courses on social enterprise at UC Berkeley and Vanderbilt University, and he has served as a Director of Social Enterprise World Forum since its inception in 2008. Jim lives in Nashville, Tennessee in the US and is an avid music fan, runner and golfer.
