Director, Career Women Wales CIC
Sarah Rees founded the Social Enterprise Career Women Wales in 2014, realising a lifelong dream of becoming an entrepreneur. Career Women Wales provide training courses and one-to-one support for women looking to re-enter the workplace or improve their career prospects, as well as providing Wales’ only part-time and flexible employment website.
Sarah has worked for a series of international organisations including the Thomson Media Foundation and the British Council, as well as working with the National Federation of Women’s Institutes and Cardiff University, designing and delivering a range of professional development courses, designing and writing funding bids and managing strategic development.
Sarah is passionate about women’s equality and international development. She was the Chairperson of the Women’s Equality Network Wales, and has followed in the footsteps of Carwen Jones AM becoming a Rotary Foundation International Scholar, spending 2 months in the Philippines promoting Welsh/ Philippine relations in 2013 and is currently the Vice Chair of the Women’s Equality Party, South East Wales region.
Sarah is keen to promote the importance of professional development and learning, seeing others develop when they develop an enterprising attitude and strategy in their careers. She believes that Social Enterprise is the future of business and looks forward to learning plenty to take home to Wales.
